January 2008.
The Deweil Family and friends who had a hand in putting up this year’s display took an enormous amount of time setting up the almost double in size bundle of joy. It took the setup crew a whopping 11 days, working over 12 hours a day on the display to get it done; I can't thank everyone enough for all their hard work.

This season we added 9 new pieces to the display and over 20,000 new Led lights, New this year were the 16-21'inch tall Snowflakes on the roof, Rudolph pulling Santa in his sleigh waving at everyone then Santa jumps out of the sleigh and you see him standing on the roof and then you see Santa kicking his feet on his way down the chimney delivering his packages! On the front lawn we have added Santa’s work shop that has smoke bellowing out of the chimney and with a conveyer belt moving the packages to Santa’s bag were an elf holds it open patiently waiting for Santa’s bag to fill up. Our Ten foot tall Mega tree, that turns 3 different colors and holds over 5400 led c6 lights on it topped by a six sided handmade star. Lastly we had a banner arch made this season to let everyone know where they are so they could talk about it to friends and family, so with that being said we had made a 13 foot tall by 9 feet wide “Christmas On Manhattan” banner arch made accompanied by 2-6 foot tall life size wire scriptures’ of Santa and Rudolph waving at everyone as they approach the yard.

I have to say that my love of the holiday season and lighting my house has taken a whole new turn this season as some unexpected events happened to me and Christmas on Manhattan this holiday season which I will never forget. We had people from all over stopping by talking to us and asking us questions, and as always we had so much fun answering every one of them. I’ve decided to add a sign in book on the web site so everyone can let us know where they are from and request what they would like to see and what song they would like to hear for the next year. But in particular, I was approached by a parent who had asked me if she could invite other parents and bring their children that have special needs by for a special viewing of Christmas on Manhattan just for them. Well I was honored and in a second said yes we’d love to have the kids come over. The night they stopped over was one I’ll never forget. These little ones were not just wowed by the show of blinking lights, but were also wowed at the candy canes we handed out to all the kids and parents in attendance.
